Inside Intimissimi's Galentine's celebration at The Plaza Hotel, where live tarot became part of one of New York City's most memorable Valentine's launches.
When Intimissimi invited me to read tarot for the launch of their Valentine's collection, I felt like I had stepped into the grown-up version of every sleepover I dreamed of having as a kid.
Only this one happened to take place in The Plaza Hotel's Presidential Suite.
Instead of pizza and nail polish, there was champagne, caviar, beautiful florals, matching silk pajamas, robes, slippers, friendship bracelets, and some of New York City's favorite influencers spending the evening together.
It was the chicest sleepover imaginable.
And somehow... I got to be the one reading tarot in the middle of it.
Every great brand activation tells a story, and Intimissimi's Valentine's campaign told a beautiful one.
Their message, "Fall in love with the way it feels," wasn't just about the collection. It was about creating a feeling. Comfortable. Confident. Effortlessly beautiful. Every detail of the evening reflected that idea, from the matching pajamas and cozy robes to the champagne, oversized bouquets, and the kind of laughter that only happens when a group of women instantly clicks.
Nothing felt overproduced. It felt like the most elevated girls' night imaginable.
That's exactly why tarot fit so naturally.
People often think tarot is about predicting the future, but my favorite readings are really conversations. They're an excuse to slow down, reflect, and tell someone the thing they've probably been needing to hear.
As the evening went on, the tarot table became one of the places everyone kept coming back to.
Some of the readings were full of excitement. New relationships. Big career opportunities. Moving to a new city. Fresh starts that felt just around the corner.
Others were quieter. Cards reminding someone to stop putting everyone else first. To rest. To trust themselves. To make space for their own happiness before chasing the next big thing.
What I loved most wasn't watching people react to their own readings.
It was watching everyone react to each other's.
The girls crowded around the table, celebrated each other's cards, laughed when a reading felt way too accurate, and immediately started connecting the messages to conversations they'd been having all night. There was so much genuine excitement for one another. It stopped feeling like individual readings and started feeling like a shared experience.
Looking back at these photos, that's what stands out to me.
Not just the beautiful setting or the incredible styling, but how much fun everyone was having together.
Tarot wasn't the entertainment.
It became part of the conversation.
And I think that's exactly why it worked.
